To supplement the work sent home with pupils yesterday, we have collated some websites and apps that may be useful for parents looking for some ideas for Home Learning for the next few weeks.

Websites that may be useful for home learning with pupils:

Twinkl Offering a free subscription during this time, using the code IRLTWINKLHELPS. 
Go Noodle Free subscription to this, with lots of dances, exercises, yoga and lots more.
Help My Kid Learn This website contains lots of suggested activities for different age categories, across various topics.
Cúla4 Watch some popular cartoons and TV shows in Irish here. Try the Games section also for revision of vocabulary and phrases.
Khan Academy Maths practice – find activities geared at your child’s level and build from there.
Ask About Ireland Provides resources and activities in S.E.S.E, Music, Art, English and other curricular areas.
Science Foundation Ireland Science activities and ideas.
Topmarks Lots of games, especially Maths and English.
Art Children can develop their art and drawing skills.
Scratch This website teaches computer coding to children. ​
Book Creator Children can use this app to create and design their own books.
Typing.com Children can practice typing skills
BBC Bitesize Huge range of suggestions, links, videos and activities for children.
Cool Maths for Kids Cool Maths, for kids

Apps that may be useful for home learning with pupils:

  • Borrowbox: If you have a library card you can use it to register on borrowbox, and then borrow free ebooks or audiobooks from home. Audiobooks in particular can be great for stories for children to listen to.
  • Duolingo:Older children can use this to practice their Irish.
  • Epic!: App with a library of over 35,000 children’s books for all levels and a read-to-me feature. One month free trial.
  • Cool Apps for Schools: A library of hundreds of apps for learning, with descriptions of each app, whether it’s free or has a cost, and a user rating.
